AUCTION PERIOD MOVED, DATE AND VENUE TO BE ANNOUNCED!

This unique necklace, paired with our “sapphire angels” earrings is a single issue piece. Timeshift Arts has made only one with this pendant design.

Pearls of TimeDesigned and handcrafted by Beau Beach, this necklace is made with Czech glass, freshwater pearls, and a uniquely crafted pendant of found items that will never be duplicated.

Many people so far have complimented this piece and have asked about the price. Due to the demand, Beau has decided that the piece will be displayed on timeshiftarts.com until we determine the best time and venue for auction. Because this is an auction item, at least twenty-five percent of proceeds from the auction will benefit cancer research and recovery programs.

Old News

As we dig through the boxes a clipping of newsprint surfaces;

From the Daily Herald  10 April 1898…

Out of the rolling fog that blanketed the city the Jewel slowly appeared, she was a Luxury Class Papillion airliner flown by Thomas Katze Premium Dirigibles. The people of London had become very accustomed to airliners by now, and many of the wealthy even had Personal flying machines 1898 was a very progressive time, and the war seemed far from their comfortable homes.

Today is the day Thomas announces his retirement and names his successor. News reports have their predictions based on the recent launch of the Felix Angels Personal Dirigible Sedans.

The crowds gather at Battersea Park, some arriving by balloon, some by steamboat, and many by horse and buggy. As the morning fog burns away, the veins of the city begin showing its lifeblood, the bustle of men, women and children that flow from home to business to park and so on, almost like the workings of an intricate machine, a machine not unlike the Jewel herself.

Captain Engelbert Blunt Whitetail stands elegantly at the helm of his ship, hands folded over the tall oak wheel ornately accented in brass and steel as he looks, through the panoramic window, upon the crowd of financiers and onlookers eager to hear the news of the day…

In Preparation

Preparations are beginning at Timeshift Arts for our annual visit to the Daedalus Line’s Gaslight Gathering in San Diego, California. Last year, Felix and Beau enjoyed the convention, visiting many vendors, perusing the art exhibitions, marveling over the gadgets, participating in magic shows, and (in Beau’s case) making a valiant attempt at dance while surreptitiously squishing poor Felix’s feet. This year, Kim will also be attending (possibly with the little ones), and We may even drag Amanda along.

This convention is a great opportunity to get involved with Steampunk in San Diego, and to meet the people behind Timeshift Arts. Check back for details and when/where we will be scheduling the Timeshift Arts meetup!

The Time Keeper

From the Cockswain’s Desk

Such a beautiful creation to be left behind! The watchmaker’s wife was wearing this gorgeous combination when she came on board, it’s a terrible shame it was lost in the evacuation and left behind for us to find along with a few other effects.

Whoever created this treasure appears to have invested great time and consideration into the detail and beauty of the creation itself. Obviously handcrafted, this “Time Keeper” will make a beautiful accent to the proper costume of another fine Victorian Lady, I’m quite sure of it.

This design, by Felix Katze, is a carefully handcrafted creation to accent the story of a watchmaker’s wife. Every creation ties into the events of “The incident” that resulted in Felix’s transportation from 1898 to the present day.

The Time Keeper can be purchased for $75.00 USD at our Etsy Store

As always 5% of the total sale price ($3.75) will be donated to Support Programs for Cancer Cure Research and Survivors

Leathery Musky Fabric

Smelling of Pitch and Mildew

There seems to be a pile of some sort of fabric, canvas maybe, rugged and salt laden as though it has spent more time in the water than in the air. This could not possibly be part of a dirigible? There seems to be some affects tucked away here in the folds, perhaps … Ah yes, a bit of Journal …

Unusually cold tonight, even in the bellows of the balloon where the heat exchanges run through I can feel the chill. There is something right eerie about the night. Continue reading
